expert in children and young peoples mental health - fooball for fun
We are delighted to have Dr Markku Wood (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) as a consultant, providing advice and guidance to Time to Play.
A nationally recognised expert in children and young people’s mental health, with previous and current roles advising the NHS in England and Scotland, as well as internationally.
Dr Wood has particular expertise and vast experience working in autism spectrum conditions and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
As part of his consultancy role with us, he advises on how to structure a training session, and work with children and young people, and their parents and carers, who are neurodivergent, to ensure everyone can fully participate.
Football is for everyone
we are neuro-affirmative - At time to play we want everyone to enjoy football
We have developed an approach to ensure everyone can play football, regardless of experience or current level of ability.
It doesn’t matter if your son or daughter wants to be the next Messi, Mary Earps, or Maradona - or just wants to kick a ball for the sheer joy or it - we provide a safe and encouraging space for all.
And to ensure our sessions remain accessible and fun for everybody, we work in consultation with expert advisors of children and young people, to shape our approach.
Whether that’s more time built into sessions for breaks, to take time to learn and explore, or just for time out to do other things.
Designed with you - for you
